How To Order

Custom Etching And Engraving

Corvallis, Oregon

The following is a description of the ordering process for the majority of custom etched pieces.  However, this should only be used as a guideline and the process will be modified where necessary to suite the unique requirements of each piece and situation.

1: Initial Assessment

In step 1, initial details are discussed concerning the proposed work.  This will include the type of material to be etched, any guidance on the design contents, the size of the design, and whether the material will be customer supplied or provided by Innovative Etch.   At this point a provisional estimate can be provided to the customer.  For work which is done at the customer's site, or some other location, it may be necessary to review the location in order to determine access and availability of utilities (primarily power).

2: Design Pre-Selection

In some cases, designs will be generated from the input received in step 1.  In other cases the customer may be asked to select fonts, images and layouts before actual designs are put together.  Often this will be done by sending examples by e-mail and asking the customer to select from the examples.  In other cases, this step my be omitted and the process will go directly to step 3.

3: Design Iteration

Once sufficient information has been acquired to facilitate the layout of completed designs,  the material will be photographed and one or more provisional designs will be generated and superimposed on the picture of the material so that the customer can get a good idea of how the piece(s) will look.  Generally the design concepts will be provided by e-mail.  Based on customer feedback, the design selection will be narrowed down and edits made, until a final design is reached.  Unless the piece is very complex, there is no charge for the design process.  Most commonly this part of the process is executed via e-mail with the designs being provided as attachments.

4: Work Completion

With the completion of step 3, the final design and price will be confirmed and work will begin on the piece(s).
