Pet Markers & Memorials

Pets are part of our families and because of their unconditional love, loyalty and devotion, their memories will live on in our hearts forever.

Creating Your Marker/Memorial

  • 1. Pick Your Stone, Tile, Rock or Glass ..... more

We are happy to provide suitable material for your marker, or you may provide your own.  For large or difficult to move monuments, we can even work on site.  If you would like a picture of your actual rock tile or stone before we begin, we are happy to send you one.

  • 2. Give Us Your Content and Artwork Ideas ..... more

We are comfortable with any level of collaboration:  Send us a complete design; describe what you would like and let us do the work ..... or anything in between.  We can generate a likeness of your pet from a scanned picture, digital picture, slide or video.

  • 3. Approve Your Design ..... more

Once the design is complete we will send you a proof for your approval before we start to make the marker.  The actual artwori will be superimposed on a picture of your actual rock or stone to give you the  most realistic impression that we can of your finished piece.

  • 4. Place Your Marker/Memorial ..... more

We can make markers fore your house, yard or garden.  We will guide you on the best choices of material and design for your intended location.

Material Selection

Marble

Black Granite

Slate

Ceramic/

Porcelain

Glass

Marble

Marble etches very well but the coloration, while being attractive, can detract from the  etched features.  This can be remedied by colorizing the etched features with an appropriately contrasting color.

Black Granite

Black Granite  has more uniform coloration than Marble and excellent contrast with the etched features can be achieve.  The uniform coloration also makes Black Granite a good choice for highly detailed etching.

Slate

Many slates contain small aggregates which can act as micro-masks during etching.  The dimbled results can be used to artistic effect.  The effect can also me minimized by keeping etched features narrow.  The colors in the slate can also be enhanced by  use of a sealer.

Ceramic/Procelain

Contrast can be achieved two ways with ceramic tiles.  Firstly, the contrast between the glaze and the underlying base ceramic.  Secondly between roughed and un-roughened glaze.  The latter is achieve by only partially etching through the glaze.  A wide array of colors is possible.

Glass

Contrast in glass depends very much on the placing and illumination of the glass.   Glass can also be reversed etched (background etched and features protected) to create increased opacity.  Finally, art glasses can be etched for additional effects.

As pet owners ourselves, we know the attachment families have to their pets and the grief and pain as they depart.  We take pride in creating individual and personal commemorative pieces for your pets.

We will work with you to help you realize your vision at any level of collaboration.
